Special Play Commissions for the Corporate Sector
Vital Stages has worked with a number of organisations on large-scale training and raising awareness projects. These projects are often built around a specially commissioned play from which other training, such as Forum Theatre, can drawn or can stand alone as powerful pieces of drama to which employees or members of the community are invited.
Our productions can be short thirty-minute dramas or two-hour productions exploring a variety of issues. The productions can use anything up to six actors and are able to tour to a variety of venues, including conference centres, community centres, canteens, large training rooms and of course, local theatres.
Each production is tailor-made to your requirements and will involve you in every stage of the production process.
What can Vital Stages provide for you?
In planning and managing your project Vital Stages will:
• Research the play in your organisation
• Write the play
• Audition, contract and cast actors and stage manager
• Design and build the touring set
• Design/hire/buy all necessary props and costumes
• Direct and Rehearse the play
• Liaise with venue
• Provide technical expertise for light and sound
• Transport production and company to your venue
• Ensure health and safety requirements are maintained
Vital stages will also provide experienced Forum Theatre facilitators to run a training programme that could follow the play.
Venue
If you are a large organisation you may wish your project to tour to a number of venues around the country, or smaller organisations might like to run a project in a single venue for one or two weeks. As types of venue and their facilities vary, Vital Stages will use its expertise to create a production that best fits each particular space and the funding available for your project.
